Marriage

"The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament." (Catechism 1601)

Sacred Scripture begins with the creation of man and woman in the image and likeness of God and concludes with a vision of "the wedding-feast of the Lamb."  Scripture speaks throughout of marriage and its "mystery," its institution and the meaning God has given it, its origin and its end, its various realizations throughout the history of salvation, the difficulties arising from sin and its renewal "in the Lord" in the New Covenant of Christ and the Church. (1602)

Marriage preparation needs to begin no later than six months prior to the date of the intended marriage.
If you (or your parents) are registered in the parish, please contact Deacon Tim Schutte to begin the process for Marriage preparation.

If you are not St. Andrew parishioners, please contact Deacon Tim Schutte.  Please note that you will need a letter from your pastor granting permission to be married outside your parish.  Additionally, the couple will to have their own clergy to preside at the wedding.

A wedding date is not firm until the engaged couple has met with the Deacon Tim Schutte.  After beginning the paperwork and filling out an instrument to Facilitate Open Couple Communication (FOCCUS), you will begin working with an Engaged Ministry Team Couple.
