STEWARDSHIP – ACKNOWLEDGING GOD’S GIFTS TO US

“The promotion of the practice of stewardship is important for the mission of the Church and for the spiritual well-being of each individual Christian. Everyone benefits from the sacrificial gift one makes of his time, talent and treasure. Therefore, please accept my encouragement for your efforts and my prayers that your upcoming conference will be a stimulus to the practice of stewardship in the Church."

His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI

Stewardship is a program for the total parish, not just another term for “fund raising.”  At the center of the concept of Christian stewardship is the activity of putting God first.  This means that we must be accountable for our use of the gifts God has given us, both as individuals and as a parish community.  An ever increasing concern of St. Andrew the Apostle Church, as well as most parishes, is to increase our resources and make better use of the resources we are entrusted with.

Stewardship is a way of life. It challenges Catholics to be steward-disciples by using their gifts in service to God and others. To be a good steward requires a disciplined life-style and an attitude of gratitude.

STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEES

St. Andrew Connection

The St. Andrew Connection ministry has two goals – to extend a welcome to every new member of the parish and to assist new members to integrate into our community life.  Each newly registered family is assigned a Parish Sponsor who extends a personal welcome, answers questions and delivers a gift from the parish.  The Parish Sponsor continues to follow up with the new members, extending an invitation to parish events and helping them connect with ministries and organizations until they are comfortable in their new parish home.  If you are interested in becoming a Parish Sponsor, contact Eve Van Sickle at 831-8604.

St. Andrew the Apostle Parish would like to recognize parishioners or others who make a special lifetime gift or provide for a gift after death to the parish.  Please tell us so we can honor you in this way.  Your gift will provide a “Legacy of Loaves” so that our parish will flourish into the future. If interested in this ministry, please contact Shirley Soellner, 831-3353.
